Cathcart Road at its junction with Caledonia Road is closed at all approaches as emergency services respond to the fire.

The stretch of road sits between the Gorbals and Govanhill.

There are no reports of any injuries from the fire which occurred after 2pm today.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue spokeswoman said: “We were alerted at 2pm on Friday, September 25, to reports of a van on fire at the junction of Cathcart Road at Caledonia Road, Glasgow.

“Operations Control mobilised one appliance to the site.
“Crews are currently still in attendance.
“There are no reported casualties.”
A police spokeswoman said: "Police were called around 2.10pm on Friday, September 24, to a report of a van on fire on Cathcart Road near Caledonia Road. Officers attended to assist with traffic."
