PLANS for a new food shop at Queen Street Station have been rejected by Glasgow City Council.
A planning application had been lodged, asking for permission to erect signs on a retail unit, which read 'M&S Food'.
But council bosses did not approve the proposals.

In a planning document, it was revealed that "due to the detailed design of the proposed fascia signage, it would be detrimental to the visual amenity of the unit itself, the building within which it is located, and the wider streetscape".
Another reason for refusal included "the proposed advertisement features would collectively result in an entirely obscured shopfront and advertisement clutter".
Drawings of the proposed shop front included photos of a sandwich, a coffee cup, a bunch of flowers and a croissant on the doors and building.
