A POPULAR Inverkip takeaway closed its doors for the final time at the weekend.
Kip Chippy, which has been operating in the village for five years, thanked customers and staff for their support as they shut up shop on Sunday night.
The business, run by the Demelas family, has been handed over to the team behind Gourock's Made in Italy, reports The Greenock Telegraph.
A spokesperson for the family said: "We have loved being part of the Inverkip community over the past five years, but it is time for something new.
"We would like to thank our loyal customers for their support over the years and our hard working and loyal staff.
"We wish every success to the new owners.
"They have built a successful shop in Gourock and we can’t wait to see what they achieve here."
