A woman launched a can of beer at someone after being challenged about a puddle of urine.

Alison Orr, 35, appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court last week after previously pleading guilty to assault.

On March 28, 2022, Iain Pender was within his Shawlands home when Orr pressed his buzzer. He made his way down to the common close, after noticing how drunk she was.

Mr Pender saw a puddle of urine and approached Orr, who was with another man. The pair were challenged about the puddle.

Orr began to shout at Mr Pender, and she threw an open can of beer at him, striking him on the shoulder.

She was later traced by cops.

After being cautioned, she said: “I did hit him with a can."

Orr, who was representing herself in court, told Sheriff Allan McKay she “couldn’t get legal aid”.

She continuously tried to speak when the sheriff was trying to address her and shouted “the man intimidated me, he intimidated me”.

She was told if she didn’t be quiet, she was going to jail.

Sheriff McKay told Orr: “I have concerns about your health and alcohol problem. I'm going to make a referral to the alcohol court.

“What was behind this offence was your alcohol problem. You need assistance. I'm going to defer sentence further.

“It’s very much in your interest that you don’t say anything else.”

Orr, of Mount Florida, will return to court later this month.
