THE Conservative Chief Whip Wendy Morton has left her role.
It was first reported by The Sun that Morton had resigned shortly before the announcement of the result on a key vote about fracking.
The vote was originally intended to be a de-facto confidence vote in the UK Government although this was later dismissed.

Elsewhere, Nicola Sturgeon has demanded a general election. In a post on Twitter, the First Minister said: "An utter shambles. This can't go on. General Election now."

The news comes following the resignation of former home secretary Suella Braverman earlier this evening.
It is also understood that her deputy Craig Whittaker has quit.
