Princess Anne has been named as the hardest-working Royal after she attended more than 200 engagements in 2022. 

The Princess Royal, 72, was reported to have made 214 public engagements, according to research on entries to the Court Circular which was gathered by Reboot SEO company.

Over the years, Princess Anne has gained a reputation for keeping a busy schedule and in 2021, she was reported to have made 179 appearances.

The new monarch, King Charles III, 74, followed his sister in second place with 181 engagements.

Princess Anne named hardest working Royal of 2022

Most of the King's Royal appearances took place prior to his mother Queen Elizabeth II's death in September when the Prince of Wales was his title.

The Earl of Wessex, Prince Edward, followed his siblings in third place with 143 Royal engagements.

Their sibling, Prince Andrew has been largely absent from public life after he was officially stripped of His Royal Highness title in January 2022.

The Duke of York later settled with Virginia Giuffre out of court for an undisclosed sum which was estimated to be as much as £12 million. 

Meanwhile, Princess Anne attended an impressive 30 engagements in November alone and even managed to visit the Falkland Islands.

The research also reported that William, the Prince of Wales, attended 126 engagements.

His wife Catherine, the Princess of Wales, carried out 90 engagements and the new Queen Consort Camilla attended 102 events. 

The news comes as the Royal Family prepares to spend their first Christmas together without the Queen.

King Charles's first televised Christmas Day speech, which was recorded earlier this month, will be broadcast at 3 pm on December 25.

The historic address will be broadcast on BBC One, BBC Two, and ITV. The speech will be available to watch on iPlayer and ITVX after it is first broadcast.
