PHOTOS show the damage caused to several cars following fire attacks in the early hours of this morning. 

We previously reported that eight vehicles were torched in Penilee and Cardonald, sparking a police investigation. 

Images taken in Penilee show several cars burnt out, with extensive damage.

Two vehicles located at the one property were set alight.

Parts of the cars can be seen melted to the ground, meanwhile, some of the windscreens are completely gone. 

The attacks took place in under one hour. 

Fire crews attended Penneld Road at 4.22am, Craigmuir Road at 4.33am, Hollybush Road at 4.42am, Clavens Road at 4.45am and Tweedsmuir Road at 5.05am. 

A police investigation into the fires is ongoing.

A force spokesperson said: “Around 4.30am on Thursday, January 26, officers were called to a report of eight vehicles set on fire at separate addresses in the Penilee area.

“Officers are carrying out enquiries in the area and would appeal to anyone who has any information regarding these incidents to contact Govan Police Office through 101 with reference 0382 of January 26.

"Alternatively, Crimestoppers can be contacted on 0800 555 111, where anonymity can be maintained.”
