BUSES were diverted this morning after a car fire closed a road in Hamilton.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) were called to Wellcroft Road at around 8.30am following a report of a vehicle on fire.
The blaze was extinguished and fire crews left the scene after the ensuring the area as safe.
There were no injuries.
First Glasgow had to divert service number 226 via Hillhouse Road and Brankholm Brae while the road was closed.
The service has since returned to normal.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "We were alerted at 8.29am on Friday, December 15 to reports of a vehicle fire in Hamilton.
"Operations Control mobilised one appliance to the town's Wellcroft Road, where firefighters extinguished a fire which had taken hold of a car.
"Crews left the scene after working to make the area safe. There were no casualties."
