EMERGENCY services are at the scene of a car fire on a busy motorway in Glasgow.
Traffic Scotland announced that lane one of the southbound carriageway of the M74 at junction one (Kingston Interchange) is currently shut due to the incident.
It is understood the on-slip road at this junction was temporarily closed but has since reopened.
Drivers are told to expect delays and urged to use alternative routes.
A statement posted to Traffic Scotland's X [formerly Twitter] account reads: "The M74 southbound is currently closed due to a vehicle fire.
"Emergency services are in attendance. Please use alternative routes where possible and expect delays."

Two fire engines were sent to the scene to tackle the blaze which affected one car.
It has since been extinguished and there are no reports of any injuries.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 10.14am on Tuesday, October 15 to reports of a car on fire before junction one on the M74 southbound.
“Operations control mobilised two fire appliances and firefighters extinguished a fire affecting one car.
“There were no reported casualties, and one fire appliance currently remains at the scene where crews are checking for any fire spread.”
Police Scotland has been contacted for comment.
