A LORRY which has caught fire on a busy motorway has sparked an emergency response.
The vehicle is currently on fire on the M74 prior to junction 8.
Police are on their way to the scene.
While traffic is coping, Traffic Scotland is urging drivers to be cautious.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that they were called to the scene and successfully put out the fire.
No one was injured.
A spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 7.40am on Wednesday, March 8 to reports of a vehicle fire on the M74 Northbound, between junctions 8 and 9.
"Operations Control mobilised three appliances to the scene, where firefighters were met by a fire which had taken hold of a trailer.
"Crews extinguished the fire and worked to make the area safe before leaving the scene.
"There were no casualties."
