COPS are clamping down on motoring offences as part of a commitment to "safer roads".

It comes after officers in East Dunbartonshire said they stopped over 40 vehicles last week to speak to drivers.

During the stoppings, offences included motorists being found with no valid MOTs or insurance.

Now, police have confirmed they will be out across the area again this week to carry out more checks.

A spokesperson for the force said: "Officers are out across East Dunbartonshire Council area this week in support of our commitment to Safer Roads in your area.

"Images are from same time last week where over 40 vehicles were stopped and drivers spoken with.

"Offences included no MOTs and no insurance."
