Time is running out for East Dunbartonshire residents to shape their areas Local Development Plan (LDP3).

A survey, open until the end of January, has been live online and drop-in events have been taking place since November.

The project focuses on a range of key aspects including biodiversity, climate change, infrastructure and sustainable transport.

An online public information session, scheduled from 5-6pm on January 18, will be held, with residents invited to sign up by emailing development.plan@eastdunbarton.gov.uk.

Additionally, Kirkintilloch Town Hall will host an in-person workshop on January 23 from 1.30-3.30 pm.

This session invites engagement on detailed evidence, attracting public participants, key agencies, community organisations, business groups, landowners and those within the development industry.

The purpose behind these interactions is to gather public insights that will contribute to an evidence report.

This document is an essential step on the road to producing the final LDP3, a long-term plan that governs land use in East Dunbartonshire.

However, at this stage, the report focuses on broad concepts that will shape the plan, not the merits of specific sites.

Councillor Gordan Low, leader of East Dunbartonshire Council, said, "Thanks to all who are taking the time to fill in the survey, attend drop-in sessions and contact us directly.

"Please take part if you can. Your feedback will help to shape the new Local Development Plan – a vital document which will help to determine how land is used for years to come."

Postal feedback can be addressed to the land planning policy office at Southbank House in Kirkintilloch.

Moreover, information regarding the plan and the online survey can be found on the council website.

The current Local Development Plan will remain in place until the new plan is fully approved, anticipated to be in the year 2028.
