A hugely popular food and drink festival is returning to Paisley for two days.

The Paisley Food and Drink Festival promises to be a two-day 'taste sensation' with over 35 traders taking part in the event, which will be held in Abbey Close and Bridge Street.

It will take place from 4pm to 10pm on Friday, April 26 and from 12pm to 9pm on Saturday, April 27.

Well-known and loved food spots will be involved such as Café Fairfull, Dark God Rum, Paisley Drinks Company and Two Towns Down Brewing, who will be offering a beer brewed especially for the festival.

Visitors can also enjoy a slice of pizza and a tipple at The Brew Hub tented area, which will be on the grass at Cotton Street.

Returning favourites include Edin-Burgers, Scozzese woodfired pizza, Brigston & Co. artisan hotdogs, Lemon Squeezy, Free the Chilli and Greek Street Food, as well as the Fizzbuz prosecco van and Rum Shack Caribbean bar.

Meanwhile, expect to be wowed by new vendors like Pizza Geeks, Wing Theory and Renfrewshire-based Dessert Box.

Guests will be entertained with a range of live performances including designated busking stations, and performances from the Rockus Choir, Crawford Smith and Fèis Phàislig.

Youngsters can enjoy an action-packed kids programme at the festival, with pizza-making workshops, free face painting, inflatables and balloon modelling, and the brand-new Story Wagon which delivers storytelling performances and creative writing activities.

Paisley will not be short of activities during the same weekend as the Paisley Book Festival returns, with its first-ever Family Day taking place on Saturday, April 27.

Pauline Allan, Renfrewshire Council's events manager, said: “Paisley Food and Drink Festival is always a popular event in our calendar and attracts visitors from all over to enjoy the food, drink and atmosphere on offer.

“This year’s festival is set to be our biggest yet with more traders taking part and a jam-packed programme of live entertainment.

"We can’t wait to welcome everyone along for two days of fantastic entertainment, delicious street food and much more. Come along and join the fun!”
