Five people have been rushed to hospital after a horror two-car smash in Paisley.

The incident took place on Netherhill Road in the town shortly after 8.30pm on Wednesday, March 27.

999 crews rushed to the scene.

Following that, two women, aged 21 and 23, and a man, aged 23, were taken to the Royal Alexandra Hospital for treatment.

Meanwhile, a 15-year-old boy and a 47-year-old man were taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital for treatment.

Cops have now confirmed an investigation into the incident is underway.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “About 8.35pm on Wednesday, March 27, we were called to a report of a two-car crash on Netherhill Road, Paisley

“Emergency services attended and two women, aged 21 and 23, and a man, aged 23, were taken to the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley for treatment.

"Two men, aged 15 and 47, were taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow for treatment.

“Recovery was arranged for both cars. Enquiries are ongoing.”
