A BUS has burst into flames on a busy road in shocking scenes.
It comes after we reported Traffic Scotland said the A725 at High Blantyre has been shut in both directions.
The road has been closed due to a vehicle fire in the area.
An image shared with the Glasgow Times shows a single-decker bus on fire.
Several firefighters are also seen in the picture tackling the blaze.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said they were called to the incident on the major road shortly after 12.30pm on Thursday, April 11.
Luckily, no one has been injured during the situation.
Meanwhile, we previously reported police have urged drivers to "avoid the area where possible".
A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: “We were alerted at 12.33pm on April 11 to reports of a single-decker bus on fire on the A725 East Kilbride Expressway.
“Operations Control mobilised three appliances to the scene.
“There are no reported casualties, and the crews remain in attendance."
Meanwhile, a spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "Around 12.40pm on Thursday, April 11, 2024, we were requested to attend a bus on fire on the A725 East Kilbride Road, Blantyre. Emergency services attended and there were no reports of any injuries and there were no passengers on the bus.
“The eastbound carriageway towards Blantyre is closed at the junction with the B7012 while emergency services are in attendance.
