NEIL LENNON'S worst rant as Hibs manager has been revealed by former player Dylan McGeouch.

Recently sacked by Omonia Nicosia, Lennon has the Easter Road club flying back in 2017 after earning promotion from the Championship in the season previous.

The Edinburgh giants were right up there with Aberdeen competing for third.

The travelled to Pittodrie in December of that year.

Hibs' side contained the liked of John McGinn, Anthony Stokes, Martin Boyle and McGeouch.

However, while on great form, the result in the north east was not what the Hibees wanted - losing 4-1 in the end to the Dons.

And McGeouch has told how Lennon was riled up well before the game had even started due to mind games from the now Kilmarnock gaffer McInnes.

Getting beat 3-0 by half-time certainly didn't help matters, as Lennon went crazy at his players during the break in the dressing room.

Asked for the worst ever outburst he saw from Lenny, McGeouch told Open Goal: "All week he (Lennon) was in the press leading up to the game.

"And I think it was Scotty Allan did something in the press saying something like 'Aberdeen are a good team but they need to fear us as well' and I think the paper printed something like 'Aberdeen must fear us'.

"So we turn up to the stadium and Lenny's first off the bus. Usually you put your bags in and go out to the pitch, but before we could go out to the pitch, he's like that 'Everybody f*****g sit down.' He (McInnes) thinks he's going to play mind games', and he's holding a bit of paper.

"Del had printed off the newspaper article and put it on the away dressing room to let us know he's seen it.

"So Lenny's grabbed it off the door before we've even seen it. And he's sat us all down and he's like that 'That's f******g mind games. I used to bully him on the pitch and I'll do it off the pitch'. He was already riled up before the game."

He continued: "It was between Aberdeen and us for third. We go out and are 3-0 down by half-time.

"So we all know what's coming and it's a tiny wee dressing room at Pittodrie. He's picked up a crate of water and he's launched it off the wall. Me and Lewis Stevenson are sitting, bottles of water flying everywhere.

"The medical bed sitting in the middle of the room, solid, he's somehow managed to tip it. He was screaming that much that he couldn't even speak, it was like nothing was coming out, he'd lost his voice.

"He walks into the toilet, John McGinn's like 'come on to f*** boys, it needs to be better. He comes charging out he's like 'what did you f******g say to me?'

"John's like 'I just said we've got to be better'. He's (Lennon) like that - 'you're playing to get beat.'"
