Michael Beale will be able to enjoy two new features at the Rangers training ground following his appointment as manager.

The Englishman was named boss of the Ibrox club following the dismissal of Giovanni van Bronckhorst.

Beale previously worked at Rangers as assistant manager under the leadership of Steven Gerrard, but now he is back as a gaffer in his own right.

The former QPR boss and his coaching staff were given a tour of the training ground facilities upon their arrival in Glasgow and sporting director explained how the main training field would be getting fresh technology immanently.

Picked up on Rangers TV mics, Wilson said: "The next thing that is happening here. Two things.

"There is a new camera system coming in from tomorrow. One of those where you can watch sit at your desk and watch training and stuff.

"Then pitch lights, heat lamps are coming in any week now."

It was also clear that the manager's office at the training ground had been freshened up since Beale was last in Glasgow with Gerrard.

As he entered his new home of work, he said: "Oh, wow. It has been changed up, hasn't it? Class!"

Meanwhile, Beale hailed Gerrard as “a huge influence” on his career as he thanked his mentor for giving him a platform to go on and become Rangers manager.

“Steven’s been a huge influence on me as a person because he has very high standards as a person, very high morals,” he said as he was unveiled to the media for the first time at Ibrox on Thursday.

“The three and a half years I worked with him here has enabled me to be sat in a position like this. He brought me on a lot in terms of management and leadership.

“I think I added a different part to his management team in terms of the coaching on the pitch.”
