Ex-Celtic star Moussa Dembele will leave Lyon this summer when his contract expires, according to reports.

The 26-year-old will leave the Ligue 1 outfit as a free agent after five years at the club.

The striker has been linked with a whole host of clubs throughout the years.

Recently, it was said he was being monitored by La Liga giants Atletico Madrid, where he had a loan spell in 2021.

However, according to Sky Germany, Dembele will definitely leave Lyon this summer, as he moves on to pastures new for free.

The Frenchman joined Laurent Blanc's side for around £20million from Celtic in the summer of 2018.

Everton and Southampton are both said to be keen to snap up Dembele ahead of next season. Any potential swoop will depend on whether they survive in the Premier League or not, though.

Dembele has been linked to some huge European clubs during his time in France, including Manchester United, Barcelona, and Tottenham.

Now, he will walk away from Lyon for nothing. As a result, Celtic will also miss out on picking up a tidy 15 percent sell-on from any sale.

Meanwhile, Scott Brown has opened up on his approach to management insisting he is now a more "chilled" character than he was as a player.

The former Scotland and Celtic captain hung up his playing boots back in May 2022 as he started his new venture as a manager in his own right at Fleetwood Town.

Working under the likes of Gordon Strachan, Neil Lennon and Brendan Rodgers has stood Brown in good stead for his own career in management and he believes the experience of playing under such names has helped him to grasp a solid understanding of the game.
