A top police officer has issued a statement on arrests following Saturday's Celtiv V Rangers clash.

Chief Superintendent Stephen Dolan boasted that only one arrest was made at the Old Firm match.

A 21-year-old was nicked at Celtic Park after he was allegedly found to be in possession of a pyrotechnic.

Chief Superintendent Stephen Dolan said: “I am pleased to say the match at Celtic Park [on Saturday] passed without any significant incidents and I thank the fans for their cooperation.

"A proportionate policing plan was in place to ensure the safety of the public.

 "There was one arrest at the grounds after a 21-year-old man was found to be in possession of a pyrotechnic. A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal."
