The Glasgow Subway was suspended this morning due to a fault.

Passengers have been affected by a signal fault which has resulted in both the inner and outer circles being suspended.

One told the Glasgow Times that there were 'no trains' at Cowcaddens station while another said they and fellow passengers had deboarded at Hillhead.

Glasgow Times:

Subway confirmed that the issue was ongoing as of 9.45am, but they said they hoped to get both circles back up and running as soon as possible.

A spokesperson said: "Apologies all, both Circles currently suspended due to a signalling failure. We are working to get everything all and running again ASAP. Update to follow. Apologies for the inconvenience."

The firm issued an update at 1.30pm to inform travellers that after almost four hours, both circles were up and running again.

They apologised for any inconvenience.
