My name is John Paul, I am 37 years old. I’ve been a member of Glasgow Disability Alliance - or GDA, for over seven years.
My brother and I formed a band with two friends back in 1977 and for the next five years we learnt how to play our instruments, I became a drummer.
“I went to Australia on a gap year and got a job packing coffee beans – it changed my life.
EVERYONE does something when they turn 40... and I wanted to do something really different.
FOR me, mental health has always been about keeping busy. The difficulty comes when I am not doing things, when I’m left to sit and think about the enormity of what has happened.
