A Two Doors Down star has paid tribute to her "dear friend" Simon Carlyle.
We previously reported that Carlyle, who created the hit show, died at the age of 48 this week.
The news was confirmed in a statement from his manager Amanda Davis, who said: "I am immensely sorry to confirm that Simon Carlyle has died at the age of 48.
"Simon was a wonderful person and a major comedic talent.
"He was much respected across the industry both for the quality of his writing and for being a kind, funny, supportive and nurturing collaborator.
"Our thoughts and deepest sympathies go to his family, friends and colleagues."
Now, Doon Mackichan who plays Cathy in the popular production has taken to Instagram to pay homage to the renowned 'bringer of joy'.
She wrote: "Utterly poleaxed and devastated at the news of the sudden death of my dear friend Simon Carlysle.
"Magnificent writer, actor and human being with a laser-like detection for human ridiculousness in all its many forms.
"Bringer of joy in so many ways, you are so, so missed."
Two Doors Down recently completed filming for its seventh series in February and is set to move to BBC One for the next six episodes of the new series.
