A Two Doors Down star has recalled an 'unbelievable' experience he had with a superfan in Los Angeles.

Jonathan Watson, who plays Colin Whyte in the hit BBC show, opened up about the strong positive reaction the series has received since it began in 2013.

In an appearance on Open Goal podcast with his co-star Grado, the Only an Excuse star revealed he came across a fan across the pond.

He said: "When you do a job you never really know, you just do it as best you can. With the response we've had never ceases to amaze me."

After acting in a series of Doctor Who, Watson attended a Doctor Who convention in Los Angeles.

While signing autographs, Watson revealed: "This big American guy comes up, with a beard on, six feet tall, dressed head to toe like Jodie Whittaker.

"He goes 'I wonder if you would sign this for me' and he goes into his jacket and brings out a box set of Two Doors Down.

"I thought, LA? I couldn't believe it."
