A LINE of Duty star has claimed he will no longer take part in nude scenes on TV unnecessarily anymore.
Martin Compston, who played Detective Inspector Steve Arnott in the popular BBC drama , has said "nakedness is a big thing that's coming back" to shows nowadays.
Speaking on his podcast, the actor says it has been driven by the rise of streaming giants who don't have to worry about the watershed like traditional TV channels.
During his career, the Scots star said he has stripped off for intimate scenes several times.
However, now he has revealed he will only be doing it if it's essential to the story.
Chatting on his Restless Natives podcast, the Scots star said: "Nakedness is a big thing that's coming back now.
"It used to be all your big dramas were for watershed so it had to be after 9pm and there were only certain things you could show.
"Streamers don't have the problem and they have also realised the titillation value of that.
"People will tune in to see certain people naked, that's just the way of the industry, and people have cottoned on to that.
"Sometimes for me, it is a bit gratuitous if it doesn't further the story.
"If it doesn't further the story I wouldn't do it anymore. I feel like I have done my time with it, my arse was out in every job for about 10 years.
"I know it sounds daft but I'm a dad now and you have to think about that stuff.
"I had one job I was on with another actor and the guy was like 'Get this out, get this out'.
"We were like 'You could shoot all this under covers'. There was no particular need to see both of us naked.
"A lot of the time I watch it and go 'Did you need that?'."
