The chef of an award-winning Glasgow restaurant is set to appear on The Great British Menu.
Ajay Kumar of Merchant City eatery Swadish will represent Scotland in Tuesday night's episode of the BBC cooking programme.
He revealed the exciting news to his dedicated followers, adding that he had an 'amazing' time filming with other top chefs.
"I can’t even express the feeling of how proud and honoured I was to have been invited on the Great British Menu to represent Scotland," Kumar said.
"I had an amazing time filming with some incredible chefs and the whole experience has been a real eye-opener to the level of skill they brought.
"The first episode for the Scottish region airs on Tuesday night BBC 8pm. Tune in for some fun and mayhem!
"It was a pleasure to meet and compete with some of the best chefs in Scotland."
Kumar opened Swadish on Ingram Street back in May 2019 and the restaurant has gone from strength to strength since.
In 2022 alone, the team won six awards, including Best Fine Dining Restaurant at the Prestige Awards, Best Indian Establishment at the Food Awards Scotland, and Scotland’s Best Indian Restaurant at the Scottish Entertainment & Hospitality Awards.
In November of that year, they were crowned the Best Restaurant in Scotland at the prestigious British Curry Awards 2022.
