A much-loved BBC presenter has announced they are stepping down after 22 years.

BBC World presenter Aaron Henslehurst is departing from his role after over two decades.

The veteran presenter, who is originally from Australia, took to Twitter/X to announce the news.

He wrote: "I guess it’s time to share something with you.

"This week will be my very last show at the BBC. After 30 years in TV news and 22.5 of them at the BBC it’s time to close this chapter! For those who’ve enjoyed my shows over the years, I say THANK YOU! It’s been an honour and a privilege."

 

Friends and colleagues shared their well wishes, including Richard Murrell who wrote: "I've been blessed to work with you across the years. So many programmes, so many laughs."

Another said: "It's sad to see you go!"

Another wrote: "What a fantastic career, so far! I hope your next move is equally exciting and fulfilling."
