A Still Game star has sent a heartfelt message to his wife and 'best pal' on their silver wedding anniversary.

Greg Hemphill and fellow actor Julie Wilson-Nimmo have recently celebrated 25 years of marriage.

Earlier this week, the 54-year-old took to Instagram to share a tribute to his other half and mark the milestone.

He shared details of their big day in 1999 which involved them getting married in Las Vegas in a hot air balloon.

He wrote: “25 years ago today I climbed into a hot air balloon in Las Vegas and married this gal. Happy anniversary to my best pal. Love ya Jules, here’s to the next 25! X”

While Greg is perhaps best known for his role as Victor McDade in the BBC comedy series, he and Julie both starred in Chewin’ the Fat alongside Ford Kiernan and Karen Dunbar.

One of Julie’s most memorable roles was as Miss Hoolie in the hit CBeebies programme Balamory. The couple have also featured as themselves in Greg and Julie’s Wild Swim where they take part in cold water swimming and share the health benefits they have felt from the sport.
