A documentary on Sir Alex Ferguson will air over the festive period as part of BBC Scotland's TV line-up. 

The two-part documentary on Govan-born Sir Alex Ferguson will feature former players and adversaries.

The episodes will be available on BBC iPlayer from Boxing Day and will air on the BBC Scotland channel on January 1 and 2.

BBC One will broadcast the series later in the month.

Boxing Day will also see the release of an accompanying podcast series on BBC Sounds.

Amy Irons is set to host Hogmanay 2024 on BBC One Scotland, alongside guests such as Scottish singer Marti Pellow, folk band Skipinnish, and Scottish artist Rianne Downey.

Meanwhile, Des Clarke will present the Not Quite End of Year Show on BBC Scotland.

A special documentary will celebrate the life of Rikki Fulton, a Glasgow-born comedian and Hogmanay icon, on BBC One Scotland.

The documentary, narrated by Ashley Jensen, marks 100 years since Fulton's birth and 20 years since his passing.

Queen of the New Year will return to BBC One Scotland with Greg Hemphill and Robert Florence leading a sketch show.

BBC Scotland will also broadcast the series finale of the comedy Only Child.

Christmas Celebration 2024 will air on BBC One Scotland just before midnight on Christmas Eve, featuring performances from St Salvator’s Chapel Choir and StAMP Children's Choir.

River City will have a Christmas episode full of surprises, and wildlife filmmaker Gordon Buchanan will document his journey across the Gobi Desert in My Epic Camel Adventure with Gordon Buchanan.

Craft Christmas at Beechgrove, presented by Jean Johansson, will offer festive DIY ideas, while five homes will compete for the title of Scotland’s Christmas Home of the Year 2024.

BBC iPlayer will feature musical documentaries, including Simple Minds: Everything is Possible and Since Yesterday: The Untold Story of Scotland’s Girl Bands.

Comedy fans can look forward to solo shows from Kevin Bridges, Danny Bhoy, and Mark Nelson.

BBC Radio Scotland highlights include a special show marking Annie Lennox's 70th birthday and a Christmas concert hosted by Michelle McManus.

BBC ALBA will broadcast Cèilidh na Bliadhn’ Ùire, a live Hogmanay event featuring Scottish supergroup Mànran and other traditional music acts.

The show will be broadcast from Nairn Community and Arts Centre in the Highlands.
