Filming crews have been spotted in Glasgow as work begins on a new Channel 4 TV series.

We previously reported that David Dale Studio on Broad Street in the city's Bridgeton is being used to film interior scenes for Summerwater - a six-part series based on the book of the same name by Sarah Moss.

The book, adapted by screenwriter John Donnelly (The Assessment, Utopia, The Pass) and directed by Robert McKillop (Guilt) is set against the backdrop of a remote loch-side Scottish holiday cabin park.

The book looks at the simmering tensions between the lives of several families that eventually erupt into a devastating climax.

This morning, crew members were seen unloading filming equipment from large white vans, which were parked just outside of the David Dale Building.

Cones were also spotted along the street to keep the road clear and black trucks were parked.
