A FORMER detective who helped snare Peter Tobin is delivering a talk on serial killers.
David Swindle will discuss his expertise in a live seminar, The Makings of a Murderer.
The event will be held at Hamilton Town House on Thursday, September 21.
Mr Swindle will discuss notorious cases such as Tobin, Jack the Ripper, Harold Shipman, Peter Sutcliffe, Fred and Rose West and "Moors Murderers" Ian Brady and Myra Hindley.
What makes a serial killer tick, the tell-tale signs and what really goes on behind the scenes will be revealed during the evening.
As a working detective, Mr Swindle headed up Operation Anagram which looked at more than 1000 leads on Tobin and contributed to bringing him to justice for the murders of three young women between 1991 and 2006.
Tobin was serving a life sentence for killing 15-year-old schoolgirl Vicky Hamilton, Polish student Angelika Kluk, 23, and Dinah McNicol, 18 until his death in October 2022 aged 76.
Mr Swindle worked on hundreds of murders and complex high-profile UK-wide investigations during his 34 years in the police, including the Glasgow Airport terror attack.
He went on to set up David Swindle Crime Solutions and Victims Abroad, supporting families whose loved ones are killed abroad.
This event is advised for over 18s only, and tickets are priced at £28.
