Summer in Glasgow is the perfect time to indulge in something a little more special when you're out for drinks. This week, Yelp Glasgow has scoured its reviews to bring you 10 places that will definitely lift your spirits.
Bath Street Palomino, 207 Bath Street, Glasgow City Centre G2 4HZ
Formerly the Bath Street Pony, you'll find the same great bar operating under a different name. "Excellent service, with a sleek interior and a well stocked bar was my first impression" says Yelper, Steven B. Why not try the Fennel Destination martini?
Blue Dog, 151 West George Street, Glasgow City Centre G2 1JJ
Martyn M loves the "cocktails, a grand piano in the corner being played and just general fabulousness all packaged up" at this city centre bar. You'll find a "substantial cocktail menu" and staff who "make each cocktail with ease". Try the cocktail that takes the name of the bar - the Blue Dog - made with apple vodka.
Brown's Bar & Brasserie, 1 George Square, Glasgow City Centre G2 1DY
If you're looking for a generous drink, you could do worse than go to Browns. Ryan W says "the cocktails are huge - my piña colada was a pint and not overpriced. There's a pianist playing contemporary songs from 6 - 9pm." Notable cocktails include the Untraditional Lemonade and the Fruity Mai Tai.
Distill, 1102 - 1106 Argyle Street, Glasgow West End G3 7RX
Claire D loves visiting here to be "met with friendly faces and delicious beverages." Formerly Ivy, Distill prides itself on being the rum bar of choice. Try the Dark and Stormy, made from rum, bitters, lime and ginger beer, on those cloudy Glasgow nights.
Slouch, 203-205 Bath Street, Glasgow City Centre G2 4HZ
With friendly bar staff, Louise C was even more excited when she "soon found out that cocktails are half price on Sundays." She "highly recommends the Dr Feelgood and Grounds For Divorce" cocktails - the latter being made from lime vodka, Midori and Cointreau, with cranberry and strawberry.
The Finnieston, 1125 Argyle Street, Glasgow West End G3 8ND
Yelper Craig S loves the food here but says "it's on the cocktails where they really excel. Being a gin joint, martinis are prevalent, my favourite being their take on a Dirty Martini." Other featured cocktails are the Fool's Gold and the Finnieston Club.
The Living Room, 150 St Vincent Street, Glasgow City Centre G2 5NE
If you're looking for somewhere that "manages to be both relaxed and informal while turning out excellent fare," then Andrew M recommends you visit here. The Key Lime Pie cocktail is made with citrus vodka, schnapps, lime and pineapple.
The Tiki Bar & Kitsch Inn, 214 Bath Street, Glasgow City Centre G2 4HW
Duncan W says "they have a great cocktail menu with some incredible creations ranging in price from £6 to over £100 and are served in beautifully shaped glass or stoneware cups". The Gin & Juice is more detailed than you might think - gin, mint, lime, apple and ginger beer.
The Two Figs, 5 & 9 Byres Road, Glasgow West End G11 5RD
Jenny L appreciates the "yummy looking cocktail list". Who could resist the temptingly-named Figgylicious? Mixed from crème de figue, vanilla vodka, Zubrowka, apple juice and cream it would make an interesting change from dessert.
Vodka Wodka, 31 Ashton Lane, Glasgow West End, G12 8SJ
If you're looking for great, simple cocktails then drop in here. Gerald G likes the "simplicity of the selection of drinks on offer" with classics, long cocktails, pitchers and shooters. The Rainbow Kiss is made from rum, gin, Malibu, Triple Sec, pineapple and cranberry.
