MATTHEWS - Rose Irene Peacefully at home with her family on 21st March 2022. Irene, beloved mum of Joseph, Roseanne and Irene and much loved Grandmother and Great-Grandmother. The family wish to express their great thanks and appreciation to Donna and her team at The Beatson Oncology department for being so kind and caring to Irene. Private funeral immediate family only. Donations if desired can be made in loving memory of Irene to The Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Care.

Dear Irene , will never forget you , your kindness , good strong character and great determination , you were a great neighbour and your great Faith you never missed your Prayers ,you made me so welcome when i moved here especially having lost my mammy just 3 months before R.I.P. I remember with happiness the many laughs we had while Tommy (The Parrot 🦜) never failed to join in , you had great craic !.Am so glad you passed peacefully and reunited with your wee Hugh ❤️.I know you will be putting the Angels through their paces getting to swap their harps for guitars in Heaven , while your kitted out in the Denim you loved 👍🏻and dance to your fave songs (gee it laldy Irene ).So today am wearing a Denim Headband in your honour , you always said you wanted Denim worn. If i wasn’t housebound ad be there for you ; but you know am with you every step of the way…and be glad to make a donation to the Beatson on your behalf , but too I’ve sent roses because i know you loved them…Sleep peacefully in arms of Jesus. my thoughts and prayers are with Irene , Jody and family at this sad time.
