RACING driver Stevan McAleer is gearing up for a second season in America - but he needs another £15,000 to make sure he won't be left on the grid in the later races.
He finished his first US motor racing season on a high after being crowned Rookie of Year and the Rutherglen racer has spent the winter raising cash to compete in this year's Skip Barber National Championships.
However, the 22-year-old still has to come with funds for the remaining three rounds and is short of his £50,000 target.
Stevan said: "I managed to find a sponsor to help me this year, but I do not have enough funds to cover the full season. There will not be much room for any damage costs of a major crash."
The inaugural race starts next Wednesday in Sebring International Raceway with the American Le Mans Series before heading to venues in Virgina and Cleveland.
