A FED-UP wife who laced her husband's dinner with dog poo has walked free from court after being admonished.
Paisley Sheriff Court heard Jill Martin planned to give her thoughtless hubby belly ache - by adding an unsavoury ingredient to his curry.
When Donald Martin, of Newton Mearns, discovered there was poo on his plate, his wife was arrested for causing him nausea by culpable and reckless conduct.
The court previously heard the couple's 21-year marriage had deteriorated so far that Jill Martin's life was miserable.
Depute fiscal Margaret Dunnipace told the court Mr Martin had prepared a curry for the evening.
His wife, however, had laced the dish and then laughed hysterically when she saw him tucking in.
Martin, 47, was arrested when her husband complained about what she had done and, after appearing in court, was banned from going near him or the matrimonial home in Langrig Road, Newton Mearns.
Sentence had been deferred for her to be of good behaviour.
She pleaded guilty to assaulting him on March 13 by culpably and recklessly concealing faeces within food he had prepared and committing a breach of the peace.
Defence solicitor Terry Gallanagh said his client had endured "continued mental abuse".
Due to the situation she had started to drink and on the night in question, had consumed alcohol.
It was now accepted, he said, the relationship had broken down and divorce proceedings were under way. Martin had moved to her mum's in Bishopbriggs.
Sheriff Susan Sinclair said she accepted there had been a background which had led her to act in the manner described.
"You have taken steps to sort out your difficulties, I am prepared to admonish you," she said.
