CELTIC will not be rushed into making a decision on whether to pursue their interest in Hamdi Salihi – even though Rangers are now reported to have joined the queue of clubs looking at the Rapid Vienna striker.

The Hoops do want to add another attacking player to their squad, along with a central defender.

But, they believe they are in a strong position in terms of their squad, and are prepared to sit tight until nearer the end of the transfer window before they make any serious plunge.

By then, the belief is that values will have been established.

Neil Lennon has confirmed 27-year-old Albanian Salihi is one of the men he is considering. And, with the striker out of favour at Rapid, and out of contract in the summer, a cut-price deal – as little as £400,000 – could be on the cards.
