Scottish Premiership striker Kris Boyd has become the latest in a line of footballers including Wayne Rooney and James McFadden to have a hair transplant.
The Kilmarnock star and former Rangers player was inspired to have the procedure after seeing the transformation of McFadden, who he said was "a lot balder" than himself, with hair "worse than mine".
He had 1,762 grafts implanted over the course of two days in the Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) hair transplant at The Glasgow Clinic.
The 31-year-old is following in the footsteps of England captain Rooney, former Scotland star McFadden plus Celtic players Anthony Stokes and Leigh Griffiths in undergoing the procedure.
Boyd said he is looking forward to seeing his locks grow back over the next few months and hopes his hair may end up looking as good as McFadden's.
He said: "To be honest, I looked at James McFadden's hair and I knew straight away I had to get one. Someone posted a picture of Faddy's hair online and I thought, his hair was worse than mine.
"I then spoke to him about it. To be fair our hairlines are probably similar. Once I saw the difference it has made to Faddy I thought - I'm for a bit of that myself.
"When it's done properly it looks good. The Glasgow Clinic takes it seriously and when you see the end job they can do - well I knew I was on to a winner. Faddy hasn't seen my hair yet so I'll leave it until it starts growing in and then we can compare.
"I've got a lot to live up to, to get mine as good as his. He wears his hair a lot longer than I do but then again he got more grafts put in than me and he was a lot balder - he really needed it done. If my hair comes out as good as James's then I'll be delighted with it.
"It does make you look a bit younger. You start to feel a lot better in yourself as soon as it's finished. Hopefully when it starts to really grow I'll see a huge difference."
He added: "I'm looking forward to the next six or seven months to see my hair growing back. To be honest I think it can really change your life. You get used to not having your hair but having it back again can make you feel a lot more confident in yourself. It totally changes your appearance."
The Glasgow Clinic said FUE is the most advanced form of hair transplants and, while technically more challenging, is far less invasive than the old strip procedure.
Clinic director Fraser Christensen said: "It's fantastic for us to have another footballer such as Kris Boyd knocking on our door looking for a hair transplant. We've thoroughly enjoyed looking after Kris."
