There’ll be no “gettin’ jiggy wit it” (sorry) for the Irish dancers staying at this hotel unfortunately.

A Premier Inn in Northern Ireland has captured the attention of the internet after issuing an absolutely brilliant warning to dancers about what could happen - if they dare to jig in the lifts.

Addressed to “all of our Irish Dancing Championships,” management has warned: “We at Premier Inn understand how you need to practise constantly to perfect your skills.

“However if you dance in the lifts they will stop moving and you will be stuck here until we can get an engineer to come and rescue you.”

It also added: “P.S best of luck at the Waterfront.”

An image of the sign was posted onto Twitter by user Lianne Reddy who added that she “couldn’t breathe with laughter.” We don’t blame you, Lianne!

It’s gone down a storm on the site having garnered more than 3,000 reactions in less than 24 hours.

Some 5,000 dancers have today descended on Belfast for the World Irish Dance Championships to compete in a total of 41 competitions taking place throughout the week.

Competitors from America, Scotland, England, Europe, and all over Ireland will battle it out to walk away with the coveted title of ‘World Champion’.
