A POPULAR Indian restaurant has closed after serving customers in Glasgow's South Side for 20 years.
Danny Singhs in Shawlands made the shock announcement on the popular social media website Facebook.
In a statement, the restaurant on Minard Road, said: "Regretfully after 20 wonderful years, Danny Singhs has closed its doors.
“We are grateful to everyone who has supported us over the years and Shawlands thank you for being part of Danny Singhs for the last two decades and all my staff for their endeavours.
“I wish every one of you all the best life has to offer and welcome you to visit our sister restaurant Gandhi Indian Restaurant.”
The restaurant chain, which is close to Shawlands cross, said they would have one last meal with customers able to attend through a competition.
The news, however, shocked many of the popular restaurant's loyal customers.
Marina McCarter said: "A loss to Shawlands."
Gary Smith added: "A solid part of the South Side community. All the best."
It is understood that the owners made the decision to focus on their restaurant in nearby Victoria Road in Govanhill. They also own The Gandhi Indian Restaurant.
