A SHOCKED couple got a startling wake-up call after a car smashed through the railings of their flat this morning.
The driver of a black Mercedes drove off the road into a fence surrounding properties on Lynedoch Place in Woodlands, abandoned the car and ran off.
The incident happened at around 8am this morning.

The driver of the vehicle is believed to have locked the car before running up the street.
Emergency services were called and the car has since been moved.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "We were called at 7.35am this morning to a road traffic collision after a car struck a railing.
"Enquiries are ongoing to trace the driver."
