OUTLANDER star Richard Rankin is mourning the death of his father.
The Glasgow-born star's brother, Colin Harris, who is also an actor, shared a picture of his dad, who was a former policeman, and said: "RIP dad. U were an amazing dad and my best friend. Part of me died with u today. Sleep tight dad. Keep a beer chilled wen I get there xxxx

The second eldest of four sons, Rankin, who plays Oxford professor Roger Wakefield in the time-travelling drama, spent his early childhood in the west end of Glasgow where the family had a flat on Byres Road, before moving to King's Park on the South Side.
