THE city of Glasgow will welcome one of the world's original WAGs when Steven Gerrard becomes the next Rangers manager.
Rangers today unveiled the former Anfield captain in front of hundreds of fans at Ibrox.
And Glasgow's glitterati, however, will open their arms to one of the world's original WAGs when Gerrard arrives this summer.

Alex Curran, 35, was one of the first women to be described a WAG when she joined England's national football team during the World Cup campaign in 2006.
Sitting alongside Cheryl (then Cole), Victoria Beckham, Coleen Rooney and Abbey Clancy, Alex had been dating the then-midfielder Steven Gerrard for a number of years before being thrown into the spotlight.
It was the year England crashed out in the quarter-finals - with the players' wives and girlfriends being blamed as a 'distraction'. The term WAG was coined and has stuck ever since.

The moment, however, propelled most of the women into being famous in their own right including Alex who has modelled, wrote a fashion column and even launched her own fragrance.

She married Gerrard in 2007 and the pair are parents to four children, Lilly-Ella, 14, Lexie, 12, Lourdes, 6 and almost one-year son Lio.
With her blonde locks and model looks, she is bound to bring even more glamour into the city of Glasgow if Gerrard becomes the next Rangers manager.
