A BODY has been recovered from Glen Nevis in the Highlands by police and the local mountain rescue team.
Officers were called to a report of a deceased person on the glen in Lochaber, Fort William, at around 2pm on Saturday.
Efforts are now being made to establish the identity of the deceased.
It is understood that the body was not found as part of an ongoing search and had been there for some time.
A police spokesman said: "Around 2pm on Saturday, Police Scotland officers attended Glen Nevis following report of a deceased person having been discovered.
"Police Scotland officers and the local mountain rescue team recovered the deceased from Glen Nevis.
"Enquiries are ongoing to establish the identity of the individual."
