REPLACEMENT work on railing that fell off a building onto a busy shopping street is to begin.
Last Sunday evening, July, 1, railings along a roof on Govanhill's Victoria Road collapsed onto the pavement below.
Police cordoned off the block from Allison Street to Prince Edward Street as the area was made safe.
Glasgow City Council's building control department took over and now work is expected to begin to repair the damage, a council spokesman said.
A spokeswoman for Police Scotland said: “Around 6.30pm on Sunday, July 1 2018 police were called to a report of metal railing falling off a building onto Victoria Road, Glasgow.
"A cordon was put in place as a precaution and building control were informed.
"The cordon was taken down around three hours later when the area was made safe.”
