STEVEN GERRARD has clinched a double deal ahead of Rangers’ Europa League clash with FK Shkupi after completing moves for Umar Sadiq and Lassana Coulibaly.

SportTimes revealed on Monday that the loan switch for Sadiq was in place following discussions with Roma and the striker has now secured a deal with the Light Blues.

He will be joined at Ibrox by Coulibaly as the Malian international gets set to move to Glasgow from Ligue 1 side Angers.

The deals for Sadiq and Coulibaly are the eighth and ninth that Gerrard has completed this summer as he has overhauled the Gers squad he inherited last month.

Sadiq has had spells at Bologna, Torino and NAC Breda in recent years and will leave the Stadio Olimpico on a temporary basis once again to join the Light Blues’ attack this term.

The 21-year-old becomes the first striker to be brought on board by boss Gerrard ahead of the new campaign and arrived in Scotland on Monday night to begin his Gers career.

Sadiq will put pen-to-paper on a season-long loan deal and Coulibaly will follow his lead in signing on the dotted line after agreeing terms with Gerrard’s side on the eve of the Liverpool legend’s first competitive match in charge.

Rangers had until Friday night to register their squad for the first qualifying round tie with Shkupi but additions can be made to the player pool before midnight on Wednesday.

Gerrard’s side host the Macedonians minnows at Ibrox this week before heading to Skopje for the return leg as they look to book their place in the second round.
