FIREFIGHTERS have been tackling an overnight blaze at the Kilpatrick Hills near Glasgow.
Thick smoke from the large grass fire could be seen from the city as 15 fire fighters work to bring the situation under control.
Crews were alerted at 9.30pm last night and emergency services races to the scene.
A spokesman for Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: "Firefighters are in attendance at a large grass fire on Old Kilpatrick hills near Glasgow - it is visible from many areas of the city.
"Operations Control mobilised a number of fire engines after we were alerted at 9.30pm.
"Crews will remain in attendance until the area is safe."
The Kilpatrick Hills are neighboured by Balloch, Dumbarton, Milton, Bowling, Old Kilpatrick, Clydebank, Bearsden and Milngavie.
