A WOMAN has denied murdering her partner by repeatedly striking him on the head and body with a glass bottle or bottles and a sharp implement.
Alexis Cook, 32, is accused of killing her partner James McGrogan on March 13 at an address in Coats Street, Coatbridge.
It is argued that the alleged offence was aggravated by abuse of her partner.
Cook is also accused of assaulting Mr McGrogan earlier that day by striking him on the face.
She is also charged with attempting to defeat the ends of justice by making efforts to move Mr McGrogan's body, wash items of clothing, change her clothing and dispose of glass bottles.
Today at the High Court in Glasgow, Cook, who was represented by defence QC Donald Findlay, pleaded not guilty and trial was set for October. It is expected to last 15 days.
