THE fire ravaged Glasgow School of Art has been granted more than £57,000 by the body that oversees Scotland’s museums and galleries.
It was awarded £57,166 to create digital reconstructions of items from the prized Mackintosh collection.
Museums Galleries Scotland (MGS) announced more than £550k funding for 15 different projects in 14 museums across Scotland.
Glasgow Women’s Library was given £28,300 to employ a new member of staff and the Scottish Maritime Museum, in Ayrshire, was awarded £43,000.
The largest award went to the Scottish Railway Preservation Society, who secured more than£75,000 for two separate projects to improve access to the Museum of Scottish Railways in Bo’ness.
