Police are appealing for a woman whose scream scared away three attackers in Garnethill to come forward.
A 28-year-old man was at the entrance of Garnethill Park on Hill Street around 10pm on Tuesday when he was approached by three men.
The trio attacked the male and struck him about the head before a woman, who was in the area at the time, screamed and the attackers fled.

It is believed they then got into a vehicle and drove off, however, there is no description of the attackers or their car.
The victim, who suffered a head injury, did not attend at hospital at the time and made his way home.
Police were later called and are currently searching for clues as to why the man was attacked.
Officers are checking CCTV footage and carrying out door-to-door enquiries.
Detective Sergeant Donna McDougall said: “We are interested in speaking to anyone who may have been in the area around the time of the incident.
