THE busy city centre street plunged into chaos by a burst water main could remain closed until the weekend.
A section of Garscube Road, from its junction with Possil Road to the traffic lights at the slip road for the M8 eastbound, is closed in both directors as Scottish Water battle to reverse the damage caused by the massive flood on Friday morning.
A repair to the main has now been completed but road traffic management will remain in place until Saturday to allow the road to be returned to normal conditions.
Scottish Water say restrictions will be lifted as and when possible, and on a rolling basis, in order to keep disruption to a minimum.
Residents in parts of Glasgow experienced disruption to their normal water supply following the burst on the 36 inch main in Cowcaddens at around 6.20am on Friday.

Engineers re-zoned the network and bringing in water from adjacent parts of the system to minimise disruption.
Residents who experience discoloured water following the repair are advised to run the cold water tap until the water runs clear.
While others with airlocks in their system following the burst that’s preventing water coming through have been asked to call the contact centre who will advise on 0800 0778 778.
A Scottish Water spokeswoman said: "We would like to offer sincere apologies to all those affected by the burst and thank road users for their patience and understanding as the reinstatement work is carried out."
