A TRAVEL firm which offers people up to 50% off trips if they act as a guide for a blind person has been nominated for a national award.
Traveleyes was launched by Glasgow-born Amar Latif, who lost his sight at the age of 18.
The company runs more than 60 trips a year to destinations all over the world, from safaris in Africa to treks in India.
On each trip, half the group are blind and half are fully sighted.
Each day, a different sighted traveller is paired with one who is blind or partially sighted. In return for guiding, sighted travellers travel at a discounted rate, subsidised by Traveleyes.
The firm has been nominated for ‘Best Escorted Tours Company’ at this year’s British Travel Awards.
